The Empire State Building is a skyscraper of 102-stories which is located in Midtown Manhattan, New York City on Fifth Avenue between West 33rd and 34th Streets.

Its’ roof height is of 1,250 feet ( 381m), and it stands a total of 4,454 feet (443m) high with its antenna spire included.

Its name is taken from the nickname for New York, the Empire State. From its completion in early 1931 it stood as the world’s tallest building until the topping out of the original World Trade Centre’s North Tower in the late 1970s.

The Empire State Building was the tallest building in New York following the September 11 attacks in 2001, until One World Trade Centre reached a greater height in April 2012.

It is at present the fifth-tallest completed skyscraper in the States and the 29th tallest tower in the world. In America it is considered to the fifth-tallest freestanding structure. When measured by peak height, it is the fourth-tallest building in the States.

The Empire State Building is an American cultural symbol. It is definitely a place to visit in New York City, especially if you are visiting NYC for the first time.It was designed in the distinctive Art Deco style and also, it has been named one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World by the America.
